Ghana’s Jesse Manyo Plange, would return to the ring on September 29, to fight Michael Dasmarinas from Philippines, in Indonesia.
The former member of the national amateur boxing team, the Black Bombers, would seek to defeat the current International Boxing Organisation (IBO) World Bantamweight champion to give Ghana another world title.
Plange, who is undefeated in 17 fights with 15 of his victims going down by knock out, believes this is the time to make a return to the ring and relaunch his career.
Though the IBO title, has little or no recognition in the boxing industry, Plange said, it was an opportunity to make a statement, saying this would lay the foundation for more recognised worlds titles in future.
Plange, who was the captain of the Black Bombers during his amateur days, said fighting in the paid ranks was not easy, especially when you had no good manager.
He expressed appreciation to his new promoters and managers for supporting him and helping to raise the sport higher.
“Though I would be far away in Indonesia, I am confident I would be the next world champion for Ghana,” he added. GNA
