Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Bernard Allotey Jacobs has said that the Kwesi Botchwey report that probed why the party lost the 2016 elections circulating in the media has been doctored.
According to him, though some aspects of the report are factual, others are fabrications “just to create a civil war in the NDC”.
The highly guarded report has found its way in the hands of some journalists who are serializing it.
The leaked report among other things said former President John Mahama prior to the elections behaved like a “movie star” and also said surrounding himself with of former Communications Minister, Dr Edward Omane Boamah and presidential staffer, Stan Dogbe made him [Mahama] “naked”.
Excerpts of the leaked report also said out of 200 cars reserved for media personnel by the presidency, only four were given out.
But reacting to the issue on Adom TV’s Morning Show “Badwam” Wednesday, Allotey Jacobs said the report has credibility problem.
“This leaked report has been doctored. I can confidently say that some aspect is true but others are also false and a deliberate attempt to make the NDC and Mahama unpopular” he said.
Mr Allotey Jacobs however blamed the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) for distorting the Kwesi Botchwey report.
“Some loud mouth NDC people leaked the report to the NPP, they distorted it and leaked it to the media” he stressed.
