President Mahama votes in Bole

President John Dramani Mahama, on Wednesday, afternoon voted at the Bole District Assembly Polling Station with the assurance that he would be retained in power by the close of the day.

Speaking to the media after casting his ballot, President Mahama, who is the Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress, urged Ghanaians to exercise their civic responsibilities by going out to vote massively to choose their leaders for the next four years in the Presidential and Parliamentary polls.

President Mahama. said this year’s general election would consolidate Ghana’s democracy and raise her position in terms of democracy, good governance and respect for human rights.

An estimated 15,712,499 registered voters are expected to cast their votes in some 28,992 polling stations across the country.

Six other Presidential Candidates representing five other Political Parties and an Independent Candidate are contesting President Mahama.

The other parties are the Convention People’s Party (CPP); National Democratic Party (NDP); Progressive People’s Party (PPP); New Patriotic Party (NPP) and People’s National Convention (PNC).

They are represented by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of the NPP, Mr Ivor Kobina Greenstreet of the CPP, Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom of the PPP; Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings of the NDP and Dr Edward Mahama of the PNC.

Mr Jacob Osei Yeboah is the Independent Candidate. GNA
