Highlife and Reggae artist, Ekow Micah, says he does not hold anything against Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan because “he is a small boy”.
According to Micah, who is also the President of the Music Council of Ghana, he witnessed the birth and the growing up of Asamoah Gyan in the neighborhood they lived in, so he does not see why he should have a problem with him.
The Aba hit singer was speaking with Mike 2 on Adom Entertainment Hall. Micah was arrested because Gyan’s men falsely accused him of conspiring with Journalist Osafo Anthony and Gyan’s alleged rape victim Sarah Kwablah to extort money from Gyan.
He was however acquitted and discharged after a short trial, but he said “I will not take it out on Asamoah Gyan because I knew him when he was only a baby.”
Ekow Micah is meanwhile, on a media tour to promote a project he is doing in collaboration with international NGO, FransDan Foundation to embark on a nationwide cell-to-cell screening of inmates, give out drugs to those who are sick, and to make donations in cash and in kind.
According to him, when he was in detention, he did not get any proper medical care and that is how he knows they the cell inmates don’t get proper medical care.
“I am therefore working with FransDan Foundation on a nationwide cell to cell health screening and care project,” he said. He urged corporate bodies to help deal with the health needs of cell inmates because not everybody in police cells is guilty of crimes.
