ghana policeThe Police service is reviewing its operational strategies to enable it deal with activities of terrorist groups in the country.

This follows reported activities of an alleged terrorist recruitment syndicate in the country.

According to the acting Inspector General of Police, John Kudalor, all commanders of the service must employ intelligence driven tactics to help deal with the menace.

“Winning the fight against terrorism is not a one sided venture, it goes beyond military strength. We need to re-examine our operational strength to incorporate asymmetric threats in our training and our capacity building.

“I am directing commanders to ensure that all policing activities are intelligence driven. The commanders are also directed to cultivate informants and use other innovative community based policing mobilization techniques to solve community challenges as well as fishing out potential terrorists networks”.
