Reverend Dr. Kinsley Kwame Arthur, a Ghanaian based in Germany and his wife Mrs. Barbra Arthur a German have been installed as the Development Chief and Queen of Nkum traditional area under stool names Nana Kwame Atta Abban I and Nana Effua Atta Abban I.
Nana Abban, a native of Agona Nkum in Agona West Municipality, over the past years has been initiating and bringing development to the area, that boost the morale of Nana Nyarko Etua III, Paramount Chief of Nkum and his elders to elevate him to that statues.
He and his wife were earlier in the day carried in separate palanquins amidst dancing to the tune of Fromtomfrom drums through the principal streets of the town to a shrine where libation was poured to signify their installation and later led in a procession to the durbar ground where they received homage.
Nana Etua III asked him to continue to use his exuberant energy and expertise to continue to bring more development project to the community to help better the lot of the people.
He said the people of Nkum could now be proud of having a development chief who has the growth of the town at heart, a personality who has proven beyond doubt that he was ready to champion the socio-economic development of the area.
Nana Odikro urged his people to emulate the example of Nana Abban, so that they also may be promoted to such statues and added that, he alone cannot do everything; there was therefore the need for all citizens to also contribute their quota to the development of the area.
Nana Atta Abban I, thanked the chiefs and people of the area for the honour done him and his family and urged the community to unite with a common purpose in the interest of the total development of the area.
He pledged to work hand in hand with all the people towards the growth of the community.
The occasion was also used to outdoor Nana Abina Nkrum II Queen Mother, Nana Mprah Afful V, Omankradu of Nkum and Nana Yaa Nkrumah I, Asona Family Queen Mother. GNA
