A three-member delegation of the Iranian Parliament who are in Ghana to help strengthen educational ties between the two countries have paid a courtesy call on the National Chief Imam, in Accra.
Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, the National Chief Imam, commended the Iranian government for its continued support to the development of the country which cut across every sector of the economy.
He said apart from promoting many Islamic activities in the country, the Iranian government is also helping in the area of health and education, citing the Islamic University as an example.
He also mentioned the various water projects being sponsored by Iran across the country and called on other foreign embassies to emulate.
Sheikh Sharubutu prayed to Allah to continue to grant peace to Iran, adding that the country should keep supporting the development agenda of Ghana, as well as the needy in the society.
Mr Pechmanfor, leader of the delegation, commended the National Chief Imam and leadership of other religious bodies in the country for their peaceful coexistence.
He said the Iran would continue to support the development agenda of the country, especially in the area of education, health and infrastructural development.
He officially invited the National Chief Imam to pay a visit to Iran. GNA
