Mr Siaw David Frempong, an aspirant contesting the Abuakwa North Constituency seat in the upcoming National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Primaries, has urged the party delegates to give him the nod to win the seat for the NDC, come 2016.
He said he has fraternized with the electorate in the constituency for a very long time, well known across the political divide, and had a strong conviction that the people would vote for him.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency(GNA) in an interview, Mr Frempong said the 2016 elections was not about NDC and NPP, but the candidate who would empower the people to take the initiative to enhance their development.
He said if given the nod, he would encourage the youth to engage in skills training, to set up their own small-scale enterprises, instead of waiting to be employed in the formal sector.
Mr Frempong said he would ensure that the mentality to work in the formal sector would be changed, and more emphasis laid on skills training and self employment.
Mr Frempong is contesting the primary with Mr Peter Asirifi, the East Akyem Municipal Chief Executive. GNA
