The former Ghana captain has heaped praise on the ex-Sochaux frontman, touting him to be the most talented among his sons playing the game
Three-time African Footballer of the Year Abedi Ayew has singled out new Aston Villa acquisition Jordan Ayew as the most gifted of his three footballing children.
While Ayew’s first son Rahim was a non-playing Ghana squad member at the 2010 World Cup, Swansea winger Andre and Jordan have both seen game times at various Fifa World Cup tournaments.
Of the three, Andre is the most popular, earning positive remarks for his assertive and hardworking style of play. Jordan, on the other hand, has been on the receiving end, attracting criticisms for his lackadaisical approach and profligacy in front of goal.
“They are both my children and you take each person with his qualities. However, I am not the only person to say that Jordan is the most talented, even Andre also says that,” Abedi told Citi Fm.
“Jordan has got speed and he is very elegant and nice to watch. He is relaxed, skilful and has strength. He has got all the ingredients to be a good striker.
“In France, he proved it a couple of times but he is still young and we are working on him to be the best, not only in Ghana but in the world.”
Abedi explained further: “He is not like Andre who imposes his authority immediately. Jordan takes time to get it going. That is the difference.”
The former Marseille star, Abedi, was capped 67 times for Ghana within which he scored 33 goals.
