The decision of President John Dramani Mahama to make Ghana a depot for storing ebola medicaments is highly commendable.
Mr King James Azortibah, NDC parliamentary candidate of the Walewale constituency in the 2012 elections who gave the commendation in an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Accra on Monday, said had it not been so, the government would have to rush elsewhere for drugs in case some Ghanaians became infected with the Ebola virus .
That, he said, would make Ghana incur so much expenses.
Mr Azortibah further said, the conduct of the President in absolute terms showed that he placed the well-being of Ghanaians above his personal gains.
In addition, for the critics to oppose the idea indicates that they either refuse to see the wisdom in sighting the depot in the country or went against the idea to give the head of state a bad name.
He appealed to Ghanaians to exercise restraint and analyze the pros and cons of the decision of the President.
Mr Azortibah urged NDC members to rally behind the President, for him to draw inspiration, to continue with his good works. GNA
