Filipino former boxing champion Manny Pacquiao, has decribed his bout against Floyd Mayweather, as a “good fight” but disagree with the decision which gave Mayweather a 12 round unanimous decision victory.
“”I thought I won the fight, he didn’t do nothing.” Pacquiao said after Saturday night’s fight.
Pacquiao, said he couldn’t throw all of the punches he wanted at Mayweather because the American wouldn’t stay at one spot.
Pacquiao, dismissed Mayweather’s punching power saying “I can handle his power, it’s not like Margarito or Cotto.”
However, VibeGhana.com sports correspondent Baba Samad, believes Mayweather, won the bout by a thin margin.
He said Pacquiao should have gone into the later rounds of the fight searching for one powerful knock-out punch but rather he was holding back as though he was ahead.
“Mayweather, has been doing this to many opponents for a long time. He fights for points mostly, he throws a lot and makes sure he lands more of his shots than his opponent. He is very calculative and Pacquiao allowed him to win the fight at the end by not throwing enough punches especially in the last three rounds.”
Mr. Samad believes however that the world could see a re-fight between Mayweather and Pacquiao.
“If you look at most of the great fights, whenever the loosing fighter starts saying he won the fight, we’ve seen a part ii. I think we will see the two of them fight again soon.” Samad predicts.
Meanwhile, Mayweather, who remains undefeated at 48-0 says he will fight one more time before he hangs his gloves.
