The Western Regional Police Command is investigating the circumstances leading to the death of a 55-year-old lecturer of Takoradi Polytechnic over the weekend.
The lecturer, is believed to have been killed by unknown assailants after which his body was laid close by the rail lines at Anoe, a suburb of Kojokrom in the Sekondi/ Takoradi Metropolis.
The deceased, identified as Seth Dogbey, popularly called Setho by students, was confirmed to be a drawing lecturer at the Takoradi Polytechnic, and was believed to have been attacked and killed on late Friday.
According to sources, the body of Dogbey was allegedly dragged by his killers onto a train line, for a train to run over him.
The mutilated body has since been deposited at a private mortuary at Funko near Takoradi.
Mr. Asiedu Kokuro, POTAG secretray at the Polytechnic, said the late Dogbey was a lecturer in drawing at the Graphic Design Department.
He indicated that the lecturers of the Polytechnic were saddened by the news of the unfortunate incident, stressing that Dogbey was very calm and had no problem with anyone.
Police Superintendent Reuben Asiwoko, Western Regional Crime Officer, said the police would work hard to establish a case of either foul play or accidental death. GNA
