Godwin Asem scored 43 points to win this year’s MTN CEO Invitational Golf Championship played at the Tema Country Golf Course on Saturday.
He was followed by Akwasi Poku with 40 points, beating Patrick Tender on count-back, while Charles Martey placed fourth with 39 points, beating James Kally on count-back
In the Ladies category, Letitia Amponsah Mensah came first with 38 points, Mona Captan placed second with 36 points, while Mercy Werner came third with 34 points.
In the Men’s Group ‘B’ reserved for golfers with Handicap 15-28, K. Roshka came first with 44 points, Archur Zhou took the second position with 40 points, while Simranjit Oberopi placed third with 36 points, beating Francis Quartey on count-back.
Joshua Peprah, Captain of the Tema Country Golf Club, commended the company for sponsoring the competition, and urged other corporate bodies to help develop the sport.
Mr Eric Nsakor, Acting Chief Executive Officer of MTN Ghana, said the competition would offer the customers of the company to socialize and make friends.
He gave the assurance that the company would continue to support the development of the sport.
Mr Wendell Yangwaibin, Huawei MTN Account Director, pledged the company’s support for all MTN social events, and also support the development and growth of golf in the country. GNA
