He asked people celebrating APC’s victory to do so conservatively since according to him the time has come for healing.
Mr. Buhari said even though the INEC papers shows him as the victor of the 2015 Nigerian Presidential Election the true winners are the people of Nigeria.
VibeGhana.com correspondent in Lagos report of a massive celebration on the streets by the supporters of Mr. Buhari’s winning APC party.
“I have seen all the elections since 1999 and have never seen the kind of joy I’m seeing right now. Some are singing songs of praise while others are just chanting change but it is electric here in Lagos.”
The defeat of an incumbent president in Nigeria is the first in the country’s history.
Since the nation returned to a civilian democratic rule in 1999 every sitting president has won re-election till the upset by Buhari ended the streak.
