Video: Nigeria election must be fair and peaceful – Obama

The President of the United States, Barack Obama has urged Nigerians to not turn back the clock on a “Great Nation” that they have built by engaging in violence before, during and after the general election due to kick off on Saturday, March 28, 2014.

In a video released by the White House and forwarded to, Mr. Obama called on political as well as religious leaders in Africa’s most populous nation to come together to ensure a violence free elections.

He particularly called on the candidates running for various offices including that of the presidency to lecture their supporters to stay calm during the election and to reject any call for violence by anyone.
