The Black Stars of Ghana on Sunday beat Guinea 3-0 in a mostly one sided match as Avram Grant’s men dominated the quarter final match at the 2015 Afcon from start to finish.
Christian Atsu opened the scoring for Ghana when he connected on a back-heel pass from Andre Ayew inside the box at the 5th minute mark.
Kwesi Appaih, playing in his second match for Ghana scored the second for the Black Star in at the 44th minutes when a Guinean defender failed to make a full contact with the ball in a clearance attempt.
The Crystal Palace player who was well positioned just outside the Guinean box charged at the loose ball following the defensive blunder and placed a low left-footed shot pass the Guinea goalkeeper who appeared to be unprepared for the mistake.
Everton’s Atsu scored his second of the match through a thunderous left footed strike at the 61st mark to put Ghana up three goals to none.
Ghana now plays host nation Equatorial Guinea in the semi finals on February 5th.
