Volta Police Headquarters Operations win ‘Uniform Parade’

The Operations Unit at the Volta Regional Headquarters of the Ghana Police Service emerged winners of the maiden Inter-Units ‘Uniform Parade’ in Ho.

Uniform parades evaluate the total physical appearance of personnel.

Five other units participated in the competition held at the forecourt of Police Headquarters with the Regional Police Band in attendance.

There were contingents were from Keta, Tongu, Hohoe, Ho Divisions and the Police Headquarters.

Mr Peterkin Yentumi Gyinae, the Volta Regional Police Commander, said the Police Service loathed improper dressing.

He said winners, which also included the best appearing male and female officers in the individual categories, would move on to compete at the national level.

Judges, comprising officers from the Prisons and Fire Services, besides uniforms, also inspected the nails.

Corporal Emmanuel Woyome, Regional Headquarters and Constable Dorothy Abrebrese, Regional Headquarters Criminal Investigations Department (CID), won the best male and female in the individual category. GNA
