The Muslim Community in the Tema Metropolis has received food items worth GH¢16,000 from the Tema Metropolitan Assembly (TMA) towards the celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr.
The items, 160 bags of rice, 50 cartons of sugar and 50 cartons of vegetable oil, would be distributed among the Muslim communities in the Metropolis.
Mr Isaac Ashai Odamtten, the Tema Metropolitan Chief Executive who presented the items on behalf of the Assembly, said the presentation formed part of the Assembly’s social responsibility.
Mr Odamtten thanked the Muslims for praying for peace and tranquillity in the Metropolis and the nation as a whole.
Malam Sani Fuseini, Tema Kotokoli Chief, receiving the items on behalf of the Muslim Communities, thanked the TMA and promised to continue to pray for the country. GNA
