Fourth Ghana Customer Service Awards launched

The fourth Ghana Customer Awards on the theme: “Ghana, Say yes to customer service excellence,” has been launched in Accra.

Mr Hector Wulf, Founder of the awards said, the ceremony which is being sponsored by the Stanbic Bank is dedicated to customer service excellence, best practice and innovation in customer service delivery.

He said customer service is very important in the success of every organisation and there is the need for customers to be treated well.

Professor Goski Alabi, Vice President of the Consumer Advocacy Centre said the determination of the award winners would be based on quality research and analysis.

She said generic criteria that would be used include, complaints handling process, cleanliness and physical environment, setting customer targets, availability of service information and customer policies and procedures.

“We will also consider level of innovation in customer service delivery, online and offline communication, effectiveness of communication channels, language translation and disability services as well as measuring the impact of customer service on organisation turn-over,” she said.

She explained that the nomination process would be web-based through an online portal which would be announced very soon.

Prof Alabi said the main award ceremony would be held in October and appealed to the corporate world to open their doors for the research team.

She gave the assurance that there would be non-disclosure to organisations, which would receive nominations for the award. GNA
