Braeswood Mission International Ghana, a non-governmental organisation (NGO), has presented items worth GH¢1,500 to 40 pupils of Adedeinkpo one and two primary school in Accra.
The items included school uniforms, 160 text books on English, Maths, Science and citizen education and 36 crochet yarn and pocket new testament Bibles.
Mr Evans Adio, Country Manager of the Mission who presented the items, said the donation is to enable the pupils to improve on their studies.
He said the organisation provides study aid to the pupils at the beginning of every academic year to help in their educational development.
Mr Emmanuel Mensah Tetteh, Project Coordinator of the NGO, said the organisation provides material and financial support to needy and deprived children in the formal educational system to enable them to concentrate on their studies.
He said the organisation has adopted some street children and taking responsibility for their fees, books, uniforms, school bags among other interventions.
He noted that plans are far advanced to expand the operations of the organisation in the next five years.
Madam Fareeda Mumuni, Headmistress of the school, who received the items on behalf of the pupils, expressed gratitude to the organisation for the support.
She appealed to the organisation to present more text books in future to improve on the reading habits of the pupils. GNA
