Hospital project for Shai Hills begins

Harvest Chapel International (HCI) has performed a ceremony for work to start on the construction of a hospital at Shai Hills in the Shai Osu-Doku District.

The Hospital, which forms part of a project dubbed: “Harvest City Project,” is a green project which would promote environmental preservation and enhancement as well as depend on a bio digester for its sewerage management.

The project would include educational facilities from basic to tertiary level, hostels, state of the art event auditorium, church halls, bank, shopping center, restaurant, sports and physio-center and a retreat center.

The project, which is on a 17-acre land, is estimated to cost over $200 million and would be completed in seven years.

The Rev Fitzgerald Odonkor, the General Overseer of the Church, said the project was to bring light and development to communities around Shai Hills and the entire Ghana as “we plan to equip the hospital to serve as a referral center”.

He described the project as divine mandate to serve the community and the entire nation not only with the word of God but also to meet other social needs of the people.

“We are mandated to demonstrate the love of God through deeds and preaching of the Gospel as that is the only way that the unbelievers will experience the love of God… We must go beyond talking about the manifestation of the powers of God,” Rev. Odonkor said.

Rev Dr Gordon Kisseih, General Oversea of Miracle Life International Church, said the project served as the destiny of members of the HCI and that God who gave HCI the vision to put up the ultra-modern complex would provide the resources to finish the project.

Mr David Tetteh Asumeng, Member of Parliament (MP) for Shai Osu-Doku, called for deepening of relationships between the church and the District Assembly for a successful project.

He said the project would create jobs for the people of Shai Osu-Doku and appeal to HCI to use the expertise of the professionals in the area.

Nene Sodge, Acting President of Shai Traditional Council, commended the church for initiating such a huge project at Shai Hills and that his people would support it. GNA
