Three Senior High Schools (SHS) in the Asante-Akim South District have taken delivery of 140 laptop computers to enhance the teaching and learning of Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
Bompata and Juaso SHS had 50 of the computers each, with Ofoase SHS receiving 40.
The computers were donated by the Ministry of Education as part of Government’s efforts to ensure that the youth were not left behind in globalization.
Mr. De-graft Fokuo, District Chief Executive (DCE) for Asante Akim South, said the laptops were meant to strengthen the teaching of ICT at all levels of education.
He said the study of ICT had become critical to socio-economic development and therefore investing in it was the right thing to do.
The DCE encouraged authorities of the beneficiary schools to take good care of the computers and prevent their misuse.
Mr. Joseph Kenniford Adasi, Headmaster of Juaso SHS, expressed gratitude for the donation and gave the assurance that the computers would be properly kept. GNA
