The Government has handed over a total of 16,000 pieces of furniture worth GH¢10.2 Million Cedis to some tertiary institutions Wednesday.
The University of Education, Winneba, University of Cape Coast and the Cape Coast Polytechnic are among the beneficiary institutions.
This provision is part of government’s intervention towards creating an enabling learning environment for students.
Deputy Education Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa in an interview with XYZ News said this step taken expected to increase admissions to accommodate the two streams of SHS graduates.
“Remember we promised two interventions; one was to provide enough furniture and the second is to complete ongoing projects which were seventy percent or more completed”.
The Deputy Education Minister also told XYZ News, the increase in admissions for this year will not affect the quality of tuition.
