Bishop Samuel Owusu, Presiding Bishop of Champion Ways Chapel, has called on Ghanaians to be steadfast and pray for peace and stability of the nation.
He said peace played an important role in the socio-economic development of every country and that everything possible must be done to ensure its sustenance.
Bishop Owusu said this at the ordination of Prophetess Martha Mensah as the General-Overseer of Shiloh Family Chapel International at Ashalley Botwe near Madina in the Greater Accra Region on Sunday.
He appealed to Christians to open a new chapter by refraining from acts which hinder national development.
Bishop Owusu attributed the country’s socio-economic woes to Ghanaians, particularly Christians’ rush for monetary gains instead of seeking their spiritual upliftment.
He advised religious leaders to use the pulpit to educate their members on government policies and programmes.
Prophetess Mensah promised to work hard to win more souls for Christ and called for support from the members of the church.
She appealed to other church leaders to be mindful of their activities in the churches and also ensure that they remain committed to the social needs of their members. GNA
