Alhaji Zakaria, Ellembelle District Chief Imam, has asked the Muslim community to use the Eid-ul-Adha celebration to draw closer to Allah to foster peace and unity in the country.
He said Muslims should continue to co-exist peacefully with other religious faith.
Imam Zakaria was addressing Muslim to mark the Eid-ul-Adha feast of sacrifice at Kamgbunli in the Western Region.
He used the occasion to thank Allah for the sustenance of peace in the midst of turbulent periods in the country.
Imam Zakaria asked Muslims to eschew violence and negative practices which go contrary to the tenets of Islam.
Mr Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, Member of Parliament for Ellembelle and Minister of Energy and Petroleum Resources, urged Ghanaians to live in peace and unity devoid of partisan considerations.
Mr Kofi Buah donated 80 bags of rice, 35 gallons of oil and unspecified amount of money to the Muslim community. GNA
