Information Communication Technology (ICT) Centre to train unemployed youth to assemble and repair mobile phones, is to be set up at Odumase in the Konongo-Odumase Municipality.

The project is a partnership between the rLG Communications and the Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneurial Development Agency (GYEEDA).

Mr. Abdul-Mumuni Yahaya, the Municipal Coordinator of GYEEDA told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the Centre would be ready by the end of July.

He said an abandoned district education building was being renovated to house the project and that the necessary equipment for its operation were ready.

It would provide job opportunities for the youth in the Municipality and three adjoining districts, Asante-Akim North, Asante-Akim South and Bosome Freho.

He said the training would not be limited to only those on the GYEEDA programme but that it would be opened to the general public.

Mr Yahaya urged the out-of-school young people in these areas to take advantage of the project to improve on their livelihood. GNA
