St Kizito Catholic Church donates to Accra Psychiatric Hospital

Mr Samuel Kudjoe Hanu, Principal Nursing Officer at Hospital receiving the items on behalf of the HospitalThe Children Service Department of the St Kizito Catholic Church, Nima, on Monday presented assorted items to the Accra Psychiatric Hospital as a sign of love to the inmates of the centre.

The items included bags of rice, sugar, soaps, drinks, cooking oil, beverages and toilet rolls.

Mrs Grace Mensah, President of the Church’s Children Service said the donation was part of the activities of the church’s programme to reach out to the needy in society and inculcate in the children the need to share with others.

Mrs Mensah added that the gesture was part of the Church’s social responsibility and a way of interacting with the inmates to make them feel special and help them overcome their psychological problems.

She noted that the gesture will be an annual event on the church’s calendar, as the Church and Catholic Church in general are passionate about the plight of people suffering with all kinds of illnesses.

Mrs Mensah said the Church would sustain its support for the Hospital and appealed to other organizations to also assist.

Mr Samuel Kudjoe Hanu, Principal Nursing Officer at the Hospital, received the items and thanked the Church for the donation.

Mr Hanu appealed to other corporate bodies and philanthropists to emulate the kind gesture of the Church in assisting persons suffering with other diseases. GNA
