An irate New Patriotic Party (NPP) youth this morning besieged the residence of former President John Agyekum Kufuor, at Airport West, to prevent him from attending the inaugural ceremony of President John Dramani Mahama, scheduled for this morning.

The former President was, however, escorted from his house by armed police officers as they also kept the youth from getting at him.

Mr Ebo Mensah, who described himself as the National Organizer for Patriotic Volunteers of the NPP, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that, “The NPP youth felt that as the head of the party, the former President should not attend the inaugural ceremony. considering the fact that the NPP is disputing President John Dramani Mahama’s victory in the just ended elections”.

No incident occurred from the situation. GNA
