Enthusiastic Ghanaians troop to Independence Square for Mahama’s Inaugration

Enthusiastic Ghanaians from all walks of life trooped to the Independence Square in Accra on Monday morning to witness the inauguration of President John Dramani Mahama.

Some of the people who are supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), sang in excitement amidst drumming and dancing and were garbed in Party colours, while others were wearing the national colours.

The atmosphere at the independence square was charged with excitement and all roads leading to the venue were blocked, causing heavy traffic jams from all corners.

Some of the supporters who spoke to the Ghana News Agency expressed their satisfaction with the arrangements and heavy security presence.

Mr Issac Adotey said: “I am happy with the security presence on the streets who are maintaining law and order and also to ensure peace”.

Hajia Kusumi Iddrisu said: “I travelled from Kumasi to witness the inauguration because I like John Mahama”. GNA
