Emmanuel Paintsil of Ashaiman shrugged off competition from over 20 participants to emerge winner of the 2012 edition of the Stone/YFM Pool Tournament over the weekend.
Paintsil had the upper-hand over Dansoman duo, Nana Yaw Agyemang and James Moore in five rounds of the final round.
He remained unbeaten during the five games with three wins, forcing Agyemang and Moore to settle for second and third places respectively.
The winner went home with a pool table worth 8,000 Ghana Cedis, 10 crates of Stone Strong Larger whilst Agyemang received a Flat Screen television and six crates of Stone Strong Larger. Moore benefited a refrigerator plus three crates of Stone Strong Larger.
The tournament organized by Accra-based Radio station, YFM pitted together 24 participants including two ladies selected from the qualifying competitions staged in Ashanti, Central, Eastern, Greater Accra, Volta and Western Regions.
The event, the third in series is geared towards promoting the sport across the country. GNA
