The Rector of the Saint Peter’s Minor Basilica in Kumasi, Monsignor Raphael Owusu-Peprah, has pleaded with all Ghanaians to accept to keep the peace.

They should put the elections behind them and pull together to make things better, he told the GNA in an interview.

He called for moderation in the victory celebrations and that the celebration should not be down in any way to mock and anger supporters of the losing side.

Monsignor Owusu-Peprah said every Ghanaian should share in the success of the just ended polls for the show of maturity and comportment during and after voting.

“We indeed proved that the country’s democracy has taken firm foothold,” he said.

Monsignor Owusu-Peprah praised the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) , the various religious groups and social clubs for the roles they played to help the people appreciate the need for political tolerance and accommodation.

He also gave high marks to the security agencies for their professionalism and urged them to continue on that path. GNA
