Mr Yaw Opoku, Sunyani Municipal Director of the Electoral Commission, has said his outfit had received adequate voting materials for the smooth conduct of Election 2012 in the Municipality.
He told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Sunyani on Thursday that 26 additional back-up verification machines had been made available at each of the 145 polling stations.
Mr Opoku said 89,477 eligible voters were expected to cast their ballots on Friday, December 7 at the Municipality which constituted the Sunyani East Constituency.
He said the Commission had divided most of the polling stations, which had larger registered voters to ease tension at those polling stations.
Mr Opoku said distribution of voting materials to the various polling stations would begin between 0400hours and 0600hours on Friday, December 7.
The situation is not different at the Sunyani West Constituency.
Nana Kwame Agyekum, Sunyani West District Director of the EC, said all was set for the conduct of the elections.
He said 59,782 registered voters were expected to vote at 124 polling stations in the constituency. GNA
