Alhaji Tarjudeen Mairiga, Hohoe Sarki Zongo, on Monday appealed to Muslims to always make the period of Ramadan a reference and reverence point to shape and guide their way of life.
He said the piety and spirituality that goes with the period of fasting should stretch throughout the year to bring peace to Muslim communities in the country and mankind in general.
Alhaji Mairiga told the GNA in an interview “Let the Eid-ul-Fitr spur us on to live the tenets of Islam.”
He extends warm felicitation to their overlord, Togbega Gabusu, the Gbi Traditional Council and the people of Gbi and expressed the hope that Ramadan would heal wounds between them.
Alhaji Mairiga commended the Volta Regional Coordinating Council, the Hohoe Municipal Assembly and all other stakeholders for their efforts at promoting knotting a lasting peace between the indigenes of Gbis and the Zongo community.
Alhaji Mairiga wished President John Dramani Mahama Allah’s guidance and protection as he assumes the highest office of the land.
On politics, he prayed for Allah’s mercy and said “Let the mercy of Allah see us through another peaceful general election.” GNA
