Court jails cable thief

The Akim Swedru Circuit Court has jailed one Isaac Kofi Ketewa, 19 on his own plea to seven years imprisonment in hard labour for stealing the property of Vodafone Ghana limited.

Prosecuting Police Inspector Kwaku Appiah, told the court presided over by Mr Yaw Atta Sampong that the complainant is a representative of Vodafone while the accused person lives at Ashaiman in the Greater Accra Region but visits Akim Oda frequently.

He said for some time now the company had witnessed a number of cable thefts.

Inspector Sampong said around 2200 hours on November 30, a security man who was on duty saw the accused person cutting the earth wires of Vodafone.

The prosecutor said the complainant rushed on the accused person and arrested him with the cables in his possession. GNA
