Community builds quarters’ for nurses

The chiefs and people of Gyereso in the Atwima-Mponua District are building a bungalow to provide decent accommodation for nurses posted to a clinic in the community.

The project is expected to be ready within two years.

Mr Richard Kuma Bonsie, the assembly member, said the people are providing labour and contributing money towards the project.

They pay a flat rate of GH¢10.00 for resident citizens and GH¢20.00 for non-residents.

He was speaking at a durbar held to mobilize funds to support the project.

Mr Bonsie spoke of plans to also build a kitchen and store to allow for smooth operation of the school feeding programme.

An Assistant Director of Education and Head of Languages in the District, Mr Joseph Nsiah, praised the people for their initiative and urged them to do everything to complete the projects on schedule.

The Chairperson of the Unit Committee, Madam Akua Afriyie, appealed to the government to complete the area’s
electrification project.

An amount of GH¢17,000.00 was realized. GNA
