FBN Capital, the investment banking and asset management business of the First Bank Group, will host several government ministers and some of Nigeria’s leading corporations at its maiden FBN Capital Investor Conference from 28 to 30 November 2011 at the Eko Hotel in Lagos, Nigeria.
The Conference, themed ‘From BRICS to BRINCS – A Real Conversation’, seeks to facilitate the development of innovative strategies for maximising investment opportunities in Nigeria. Discussions during the event will address ways to deepen Nigerian capital markets, and highlight capital-raising and growth opportunities to boost Nigeria’s image as a premier destination for investments in sub-Saharan Africa.
The Coordinating Minister for the Economy Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Minister of Petroleum Resources Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke, and Minister for Trade and Investment Dr Olusegun Aganga are among the keynote speakers scheduled to present at the conference. Other notable speakers include Minister of Power Professor Bart Nnaji, Minister of Agriculture Dr Akinwunmi Adesina, and AMCON CEO Mr Mustafa Chike-Obi. In addition there will be a dinner with a presentation by the CBN Governor, Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi on ‘Building a robust financial services sector and supporting broader economic growth’
According to the Deputy Managing Director of FBN Capital, Mr Kayode Akinkugbe, “We believe that Nigeria’s economic growth can be accelerated and sustained once the government begins to deliver on its reform agenda. This conference seeks to facilitate the debate towards achieving this.”
Akinkugbe added that the FBN Capital Investor Conference will provide a forum for investors to interact with policymakers, regulators and Nigerian business leaders with a view to participating in the country’s economic growth.
