Kwesi Appiah Claims Gabon And Sierra Leone Will Test Black Stars

Ghana assistant coach Kwesi Appiah believes Gabon and Sierra Leone are the right opposition to test Ghana’s steel for next January’s Nations Cup.

The Black Stars will play West African minnows Sierra Leone on 12 November before a tough test against 2012 Nations Cup co-hosts Gabon in Paris three days later.

Head coach Goran Stevanovic will use the two matches to assess three debutants Charles Takyi, and Jeffrey Schulpp.

The Serbian gaffer will also use both ties to have a fair idea of his choice of players for the finals.

And Kwesi Appiah believes Gabon and Sierra Leone will provide a stiffer test.

“I think the FA was trying to get us play some other countries but unfortunately they fell through. But Gabon and Sierra Leone are good sides,” He told Accra-based Pravda Radio.

“They will provides us the toughness we need. They are no minnows.”

Ghana have aimed to win a fifth Nations Cup next year after almost three decades on.
