Government has clarified the circumstances under which Health Minister; Hon. Yieleh Chireh, took a ten day leave of absence.
A statement from the Ministry of Information and signed by Hon. John Tia Akologu disclosed that the President granted the Health Minister his request for leave on the 11th of October, 2011 purely on medical grounds.
Mr. Akologu said he hopes that this clarity will bring to an end the wild speculations the Health Minister’s leave has generated.
The statement concluded that it is the view of the President that the strength and functionality of institutions must be enhanced and guaranteed at all times irrespective of those who are privileged to head these institutions at any point in time seeing that none of us is indispensable.
