Mobilizing to Stop NATO from Bombing Libya

The African Union has been doing all it can to find a solution to the crisis in Libya—meeting with NATO leaders, talking with officials in the US, drawing peace plans at summits, attempting to persuade both sides to the conflict, and many others. We read of 30 former African heads of state asking that NATO ends its hostilities against the government of Libya. All of these attempts went unheeded by the military alliance, and NATO rather escalates its aerial bombardments, increases its support for the rebels, and affirms its resolve and agenda on Libya.

Most recently, President Zuma of South Africa noted, “It is a very strong view within AU members that Europe doesn’t respect the AU,” Zuma said in an interview with Johannesburg-based broadcaster SAFM. “I think that, in a sense, undermines the integrity of the African Union. This, in a sense, reminds them of colonialism.” The way NATO continues to ignore the African Union peace plan and the desires of ordinary Africans across the world for Libyan solutions to the Libyan problem clearly proves President Zuma’s frank observation.
How can we Africans strengthen our power with NATO on the Libya civil war when the powerful European and American alliance continues to ignore the voice of Africans?

We the ordinary people of Africa need to remind NATO member governments that the voice of each African counts in the world. By using the Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr. method of nonviolent protests, we can make an impact on and change the views of European and American governments about the need for peace in Libya.

We need to mobilize our grass-root members nation by nation to organize peaceful demonstrations in front of the embassies of Britain, France, and the US until these nations begin to pay attention to Africans. The nonviolent demonstrations against the continued NATO aggression will need to continue until NATO stops bombing Libya.

We need to identify groups that may lead the nonviolent demonstrations—students, grass-root pan-African organizations, churches, mosques, synagogues, governmental organizations, or nongovernmental organizations, and political parties across the continent—nation by nation. Use word-of-mouth, cell phones, text messages, emails and others to send word around to stage nonviolent protests even if it is for one hour a day.

If groups of two or three or hundred continue to demonstrate peacefully and daily in front of the embassies of Britain, France, and the US, newspapers, televisions, and radios across the world will broadcast the concerns of Africans about stopping the bombing in Libya. The message will be clear that ordinary Africans want NATO to end hostilities against the government of Libya. With placards, signs, and flags, let us begin our peaceful protests in front of their embassies as soon as possible as NATO continues its determined military adventure on the continent. The world will take notice of us.

  1. It is most heartening that the AU is trying for peace; but it is most frustrating that only a few countries can control the world in this manner.
I hope some more countries join you, including India, my country which is already with you.

    • The white man has already made it’s mind that Africans given a gun turn it faster on each other, than point it to the direction of the white menace. In reality Africa has no clout, a spineless continent. The continent is rich beyond belief in minerals, but those that seek to unify it are being dragged to the hangmans noose each time they dare to speak and do so, I am very doubtful about listening to an African politician or citizen in general, they are feeble minded. Africa is mineral rich Western back yard, why pay attention to Africa?. They are not United amongst themselves, the West pays African leaders and rebels to fight amongst themselves, and Africans are dumb founded to notice what the problem and solution is!!. My seven year old son know’s how to extinguish fire, but can African nations do that amongst themselves?. For example, plan an adventure across Africa, starting North to East across the Sahara to the South, you would have paid over $500 in visa cost’s, enough to start a small scale farm, buy seeds or grow some food money, how the hell in the world do you expect Africa to solve it’s own problems?. Pacifism of Gandhi worked against British only when Indian rebels terrorized the British and were killing Brits by the dozens, Gandhi was an exit strategy to save face, Martin Luther King is widely glorified in the West today because the alternative was Malcolm X, he had a secret militia who literally killed white radical anti black racist cops, FBI & CIA agents, and he was instrumental with the black panther party in helping carry raids against brutal, oppressive police, he killed and maimed white villain souls by the dozens, to repeat and write history, a colonial power has to go with the one less aggressive who is likely to cause minimum damage to status quo. I feel Africa is long to way to independence and political victory, what is happening today in Africa is a sham and scam in grand scale, cause they are completely incompetent, still dependent on aid, so why should the West listen to Africa?. What’s the benefit?. Gadaffi is just to tough, his country is too independent, too self sufficient, he must be killed or incapacited so that Western oil companies can move in, anyway when many Africans are dead and killed, there’s no price to negotiate on the land, and the dead bodies become a fertilizer for the ground, either Africans learn to think for themselves or wolves in sheeps clothing make that decision for Africa. We are paying $5 for a gallon of gas in California, don’t you think, it’s time to kill Gadaffi?. after all white lies do work and travel a million miles faster than a glass full of truth. Gadaffi killed his own people, can you prove it, did Africa even force a fact finding mission?. If the western lies are working under the banner of deceptive democracy to have a hand in the African resources, why not let them die and we get the resources?. They have been dieing of ignorance for decades anyway. Are white lies not great enough?. White man is the most dominant human race in the modern world today, one reazon that is applicable is because.. We look you in the eye, and lie in your face, and has worked for us a zillion times, and we make people fight against their own interest, and I surely won’t try to hide that fact.

  2. Well, many Africans have access to a POWER far greater than the planes, tanks and helicopters of the U.S., U.K. and France. That power if the power of Yahweh – the Lord God Almighty. Africnas should seek HIS intervention – for HIM to come against this sinful, deplorable, illegal bombing and gross destruction of Libya..for better positioning with reference to Libya’s 46.4 billion barrels of oil.
Pray that GOD causes these planes and helicopters to MALFUNCTION and even BE DESTROYED. Pray that as God delivered Israel when it was surroinded by three great armies (2 Chronicles 20), that HE will SUPERNATURALLY defeat the French, British and American terrorists.
Some who hear from GOD in the US believe that the tornadoes (worst in over 50 years0 in US are GOD’S JUDGMENT AERIALLY for how the US is destroying Libya AERIALLY by its bombs and missiles.
Have faith in God and RELEASE that faith by FERVENT INTERCESSION…along with every possible non-violent protest step.

  3. The West look at Africa as being handicapped by previous colonizations, incapable of making decisions that serve African interest, most of all they see Africa as a beggar continent with massive natural resources incapable of trading and socializing within member states, most of all Africa is mentally ill equipped to take action and punish the West, so a tremendous amount of weakness is seen across the African continent, pacifist doctrines do not always work with the West. Peaceful overtures from Africa is what makes them look so inferior and incapable, if Africa is to grab guns, point it at the heart of utter nonsense UN, USA, G8 & imperialist nations that seek to sideline it and make decisions on it’s behaft. Those crisis in African continent would be solved long time ago, you never win respect when you are so peaceful with the West, unwilling to expose their hypocrisy, I am one of the Western citizens. I know what is about to happen in Africa, if Africa is not ready to fight and defend it’s interest, the polluted West is about to put Africa in chains again, it’s already started with the most promising and prosperous African nations, Laurent Ggabgo is gone, Gadaffi online, will gradually bring Nigeria & Gabon to the fold, then now we have an imbecile South African president, all the African nations will fall to indirect colonial rule. First Africa has no continental social and monetary union, the continent has an abundance of natural resources and labor, but it’s not utilized and tackled to African advantage, 500 years ever since slavery, you’ve not woken up, what do you expect lame ducks?.

  4. If NATA should continue with the air raids on Libyan Authorithies heedless of the call from AU to halt; they should know that they are esposing themselves to accussations similar to what they are accussing Gaddafi and that will certainly amount to a case of kettle calling pot black.

  5. The public humiliation of AU by NATO has exposed the neocolonial agenda of France and Britain, now the have almost destroyed Ivory Coast and AU was naive to have agreed that Ouattara won the election instead of insisting that both Ouattara and Gbagbo shouldnt have contested in that election.
Africans have to realise that they longer should depend on aid from the western countries, the need to invest on technology oriented education of their population so as to be able to mine their resources in future by themselves.
What is happening in Libya is an eye and no leader inAfrica should take it for granted because next these resource hungry colonialists will come knocking on your door.
The pitch Africans against themselves by supplying weapons to the warring parties to get access to resources from any of the fighters who has the upper hand. Africans beware

  6. We need prayer. And we need guns. If Africans do not organize themselves, quickly, and find a way to travel to Bengazi and KICK ASS, then Africa has no future.

Libya is an AFRICAN country. It is not necessary to remind Africans of Gaddafi’s vision of a United African continent.

To hell with the African politicians. Do not wait for their leadership. THE PEOPLE of Africa themselves must find ways to arm themselves, and then make their way to Libya to defeat the “Bengazi rebels,” as they’re called.

This is the first REAL test case. If Africa fails here, then its end is near.

  7. Let all African nations be vigilant and prayerful, but always remember to shun violence and if you are to be violent for any reason, let it be in the spirit and that will make you a spiritual soldier who is more powerful and greater to defeat battallions since THE ONE in you is greater,He is the Captain of the host of heaven,HE IS JEHOVAH!!!
