The Deputy Minister for Health, Dr. Nii Oakley Quaye-Kuma has denied that he has impregnated his house maid! The Minister who doubles as the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Krowor Constituency in the Greater Accra region has consequently denied ever vacating from his constituency to rent an apartment at Eat Legon, a suburb of Accra for the said housemaid.
He has therefore dared his accusers who are making such allegations to come clean with their allegations and pinpoint to him the particular housemaid they are talking about as well as the house at East Legon.
Hon. Quaye Kuma, who is already married with four children, made these denials when reacting to the allegation in an interview with the Daily Searchlight via telephone recently. A group calling itself Concerned Citizens of Nungua had accused the Minister cum MP of abandoning them to now stay in a magnificent house at East Legon with his housemaid whom he had allegedly impregnated.
They claimed that currently the said house maid who was brought to the couples’ maternal home by the Minister’s wife, Paulina, to assist them in the management of their veterinary stores at Nungua Barrier among other household duties is alleged to have given birth to a bouncy baby boy.
Paulina, according to sources close to the couples, brought the lady to their house sometime in 2007 to help them in their daily activities. Among other things, the Deputy Minister for Health is alleged to have promised the youth of Krowor ahead of the 2008 general elections that if he is voted for as the MP for the area and consequently the National Democratic Congress (NDC) came to power he would be made Ports and Habours Minister, and this would give him the opportunity to push a lot of the youth in the area to the harbour, which promises they claimed has failed to materialize.
Quite apart from that the MP was alleged to have promised the community’s soccer team that trains at the Nungua Town Park near the Nungua Barrier a set of jerseys and footballs if voted for but since he won the seat he has closed his eyes on them.
But Hon. Quaye Kuma reacted that he has so far shared twelve set of jerseys and footballs to some ten teams in the area.
