The Ghana FA president Kwesi Nyantekyie has assured Ghanaians that midfielder Michael Essien will return to action for the Black Stars in March 2011.
The four-time Africa champions’ next Nations Cup qualifier is against Congo and the Chelsea prodigy himself has promised to end his temporary international leave.
“Essien never said he will not play for Ghana again,” Nyantekyie is quoted by KickOffGhana.com. “He merely asked for time away from the team but has now told us he will be available for selection in March.”
The sensational midfielder has returned from injury and has been in good form for Chelsea. Essien got the nod from former Black Stars coach Milovan Rajevac to take a respite in order to regain his fitness at club level.
