And so as the story goes, a blend of glitz, glamour, music, a cheering audience and of course, ten beautiful contestants were just the ingredients needed to make the grand finale of Miss Malaika Ghana 2010, held at the Accra International Conference Centre, a spectacular event.
Just like every other year, the contest, organized by Charter House, was keenly competed with every participant showing off their talents and putting their wits to the test.
However, it goes without saying, that at the end of it all; it was Miss Ama Nettey who emerged winner as Miss Malaika Ghana 2010.
The show was off to a power-pumped start. An electrifying opening performance by the famous trio Praye, had the whole house on their feet, dancing to their new tune “New dance” and following performances by Trigmatic and D-Black sustained the up-beat tempo of the crowd.
Nigerian sensation, pretty-boy, Banky W was not to be left out as he thrilled his Ghanaian fans with some good, original Nigerian R&B. As though it could not get any better than that, the roaring crowd that welcomed the last act, Ghana’s very own VIP was deafening as their fans danced to songs like “Away” and “ I think I like em”.
Yet nobody could escape the inevitable as the show gradually came to a close, tensions mounted with fans screaming loudly, their preferred winners.
Interestingly it seemed the loudest bunch of screamers got their wish when Miss Nettey was crowned queen with Miss Stephanie Mensah and Berlinda Addardey following in the 1st and 2nd runner up positions respectively.
The queen, Ama Nettey took home with her, a shiny KIA Cerato saloon car, 4800 Ghana Cedis as her Annual Salary courtesy MTN, 15000 Ghana Cedis promotional contract with MTN, 200 Ghana Cedis worth MTN talk time, a personal wardrobe from ABC wax print, a year’s supply of cosmetics and perfumery from Nouvelle Grandour, and an international fun trip to Egypt.
