Inter midfielder Sulley Muntari got so angry at his team for not selecting him to play in Sunday’s Derby d’Italia against Juventus that the Ghanaian international stormed out of the San Siro stadium and went home rather than watch the match from the stand.
Italian daily La Gazzetta dello Sport report Muntari will hold talks with team manager Benitez later this week and will be penalised for his actions.
Following Inter’s 0-0 draw with Juventus, head coach Rafael Benitez said: “A player who is not in the squad can’t be happy, but each of us do things that we consider to be right. Sulley must understand that there are others and that the others are important.”
Muntari played a key role for the team under former manager Jose Mourinho but relationship between him and current head Benitez hasn’t been friendly.
It is reported that Milan will let Muntari go during the January transfer window and English Premier side Tottenham has been reported to be the next destination for the 25 year old Ghanaian midfielder.
