A man alleged to be one of the masterminds of the Nigeria at 50 bombings has been detained.
Nigerian secret police spokeswoman Marilyn Ogar, told reporters that police in Johannesburg, South Africa, have taken Henry Okah into custody.
She said they are working closely with authorities in South Africa to extradite Okan to Nigeria.
Henry Okah is the former leader of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta.
Tthe rebel group based in Nigeria’s oil rich Niger Delta claimed responsibilty to Fridays bombings in which 12 people died and many more wounded.
The group says it is fighting for total control of Niger Delta’s oil wealth, accussing the Nigerian government of not using oil weath to develop the region.
