Former U.S President Jimmy Carter has been hospitalized after falling ill on a Delta Airlines flight. Mr Carter was on his way to a book signing.
A Statement released by the Carter Center said while on a flight to Cleveland, the former President developed an upset stomach, and, upon arrival, was taken to Metro Health Hospital for observations. According to the center, Mr. Carter is resting comfortably and is expected to resume his book tour this week.
Jimmy Carter,85, served as the 39th President of the United States between 1977 and 1981.
He is also a member of the elders, an international non-government organisation of public figures, statesmen, peace activists, and human rights advocates, brought together by Nelson Mandela in 2007.
